  1. The 2012 season has finally come to its end. Sebastian Vettel yet again came out on top to claim his Third Drivers World Championship. However it was not easy for the young German driver compared to his 2011 campaign, as he had to fight all the way to the finish with Fernando Alonso.

But going all the way back to the beginning of the season at Melbourne we all thought that this year looked like it was going to go McLaren's way but we had no idea in what lay ahead for this years championship which was by far the best World Championship that I can remember.

All the F1 teams at the beginning of the season could not get to grips with the Pirelli tyres which therefore lead to some of the best racing F1 fans have seen for years. The Chinese Grand Prix was the first real example of how not understanding the tyres and the new regulations brought the field much closer together, and created edge of your seat racing. There was 12 cars separated by 8 seconds going into the closing stages of the race and Kimi Raikkonen lost out the most at the end from being in second place going into the final few laps to finishing outside of the points due to his tyres falling "off the cliff." This was also the first sign we saw Mercedes looking like a real threat with a one-two in qualifying and with Nico Rosberg taking his maiden F1 victory in China. However we soon discovered that Mercedes would go backwards rather than forwards in this season championship.
